Craftsman training scheme in Kerala is a joint effort of National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) under Ministry of Labour - Government of India and Government of Kerala. The training scheme is intended to create skilled technical manpower requirement for various engineering and non engineering departments all over the world. Craftsmen are those who assist engineer in research and development, Manufacturing, inspection and maintenance.
We offer effective craftsmen training in the various trades at our centers located at Calicut city. One can choose a suitable trade from the following trades.
Mechanic Motor Vehicle.
Course Duration : 2 Years.
Eligibility : SSLC or Equivalent.
Age Limit : 40 years.
On completion of two years training under craftsmen training scheme, one will be able to confidently enter to the field of automobile engineering as an assistant. Work supervisor etc. Job opportunities in this trade is very high in design, production of various units of manufacturing plants, operation and maintenance of machines etc. In addition to technical knowledge one should posses manual dexterity, creative skill and physical fitness.
Diesel Mechanic
Course Duration : 1 Year.
Eligibility : SSLC or Equivalent.
Age Limit : 40 years.
At grass root level machanics are craftmen who do the actual technical work in workshops and industrial establishments because of this job opportunity is very high for those who suecessfully complete this traning in autosmobile industry and diesel plants. On successful completion of this one year course, one will be eligible to get selected as locomotive assistants, work supervisor etc. in different government departments and industrial establishments.
Draughtsman Civil
Course Duration : 2 Years.
Eligibility : SSLC or Equivalent.
Age Limit : 40 years.
To assist the design engineers and to implement the work designed by them, number of technical hands are required. This is a challenging field to those who have creative skill.
Surveyor
Course Duration : 2 Years.
Eligibility : SSLC or Equivalent.

The training scheme is designed in such a way that trainees get exposed to different types of survey techniques such as theodolite survey, Chain survey, Plain table survey etc.
Mechanic Refrigeration and A/C
Course Duration : 2 Years.

The study of low temperature technique is an interesting branch.The global trading is increased the requirement of cold storage and mobile cold storage units.. On completion of the training program, one will be eligible to get selected as supervisor, technicians in various industries.
Electronic Mechanic

There are very few carriers that offer so many benefits, Interior decoration and designing is one such field. As an Interior decorator you will have satisfaction of making your vision reality. Designing is a blend of artistic talent and creativity. Interior designing is the arrangement of living space that is organizing, managing and planning of the interiors of the rooms at homes, offices, retail shops, show rooms, hotels and other commercial establishments etc. This is one of the fastest growing professional fields and the perfection is immediately rewarding. By considering the high demand of interior designers in near future NCVT has introduced one year training program in this area which creates ability to work with architects and construction engineers and provides sufficient training in Computer Aided Designing (CAD).

WELDER (Tig, Mig, 1G to 6G Positions)
Welding is a method of providing a high strength joint between components. Welding can be used on a wide variety of engineering materials. A large amount of welding is done by manual techniques. Where as electric arc or gas flame is used to melt the metal in the joint. A welder is in direct control of the process, making judgments that decides the quality of the work. Work quality can be maintained only by the knowledge and skill of the welder. There is a real shortage of skilled labor in this field and the skill and qualification should be recognized world wide. National council for vocational training NCVT is the apex body in our country that monitors the slandered of skill training and issue certificate to eligible candidates and this certificate is valid world wide. There are different manual welding process mainly, Manual metal arc, Metal inert gas (MIG), Tungsten inert Gas (TIG). Each process has its own field of application and requiring high degree of skill to active soul welds. All type of manual welding process are included in the latest updated syllabi of NCVT. Job opportunity is not confined to one industry alone. Diverse fields are available to welders to select a carrier. Since shortage of skilled welders is there in all the fields it is easy to procure
